A noble, important wine in production since 1985. Winner of some of the highest awards in the world. Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes, harvested by hand, then processed in steel tanks for 24 months and kept in small oak casks for at least 12 months followed by further ageing in bottles.
Intense and persistent, fine, ample, and fruity with notes of mature fruit and morel jam. Floral, with scents of petals and withered red flowers.
Dry, warm and soft, quite fresh, sufficiently tannic, robust, balanced and harmonious.
Very structured preparations: succulent, flavoursome dishes, rich with aromas and spices. First course pasta dishes with game and wild fowl sauces. Bovine meats, pork and mutton cooked with gravy, aromatised with garlic, rosemary and truffle, stuffed fowl and game in salmi, seasoned cheeses and matured cheeses with herbs.
